Urban Commons

HubCity is an alternative to top-down governance and privately owned educational spaces. It aims to offer the citizens a way to take the lead on urban transformations, by using a network of common resources available in neighboring open labs and giving back. A place where to centralize educational content on the quality of public spaces, appropriate the production of food, from recycling the food waste of surrounding houses to spreading the compost in a network of vegetable gardens. All urban issues are finding their solution in a low-tech fashion by locally engaged people willing to increase their quality of life by joining forces in their district. Educating the participants to sustainability, low-tech, and open-source is the underlying magic that makes the entrepreneurship process virtuous.

With HubCity, Lomé became a pioneer in the world for collective intelligence workshops, digital revolution, IoT, 3D printing, and was represented on the international scene.
